Legal and compliance personnel gather from across the globe for a better legal & compliance system for Nidec

On April 14, a Global Legal and Compliance Conference was held at Nidec Corporation’s head office in Kyoto, Japan, to discuss how to strengthen the entire Nidec Group’s legal and compliance system.

To rebuild Nidec as a company trusted by the market, all legal, compliance, and trade management personnel from across the globe gathered to discuss drastic improvement measures for our company.

Reviewing our corporate culture, systems, and processes to make sure to always do what is right first

At the conference, I once again promised everyone to make it our top priority to do what is right.

I urged all participants, especially legal team personnel to not only make rules, but also lead others in preventing risks.

Let’s always make sure to abide by the basic rule of informing any and all material risks to the top management, as we review our corporate culture, systems, and processes comprehensively.

We will shift from a top-down decision-making process to a free and collaborative, discussion-based decision-making process, replace our opaque governance system and silo-like organizations with open and transparent ones, transform pressure into a sense of reward as the source of motivation to work, change an uncertainty-filled internal atmosphere into a hope-driven one, and target not the numbers themselves but the future that will lie beyond them.
